on our way
What a day.
Ben went home sick ... threw up at school.
We got to the airport and there were only a handful of parking spaces. It was like finding the needle in a haystack.
We finally got a spot, checked out bags, and went to security. Glad it wasn't busy because removing all the electronic devices filled the conveyor.
Finally we were at the gate and boarding started. It was then that we were told we only had one seat. They oversold the plane. I was confused since we had paid for assigned seats. Well apparently that didn't matter. Frontier expects you to check in 24 hours before your flight and then it is first come first served if oversold.
So we ended up with only 4 seats available and either I go or no refund. So Jess stayed back and we boarded. Luckily some nice people moved so the kids and I could sit relatively close.
About ten minutes later the flight attendant announced that mom made the flight and the plane cheered. I was relieved since the thought of 250 lbs of luggage. 3 kids, midnight, and a new city awaited.
We departed late due to driving but arrived in Florida to lines. We got our rental car but finding it was another adventure (sixt ... nice cars, terrible service).
We got the car loaded. Went to leave.
We could only put the car in neutral and park. Both push buttons worked. Tried to slide the lever, push brake then drive button.... no luck.
After consulting the users manual discovered you have to pull the button. What was wrong with the simple shifter?
Finally arrived at the hotel to sleep at 2:30am.
